Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 5 August 2025

Last Updated: 5 August 2025

At WHENN, your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we access from your Google Calendar, how we use it, and how we protect your information.

1. What We Access

When you connect your Google account, we request access using the scopes below:

  • openid
  • email
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events

We access only your calendar’s “busy” time blocks; event titles, descriptions, attendees, and locations are never collected or stored.

2. How We Use the Data

  • Identify when you are available (i.e., not marked as busy).
  • Help coordinate mutual free time between you and your friends.
  • Suggest possible times for social events or outings.

3. What We Don’t Do

We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal data. We may share data only:

  • Service Providers: With trusted vendors (e.g., Google, Microsoft) to sync calendars or deliver related features—always with your consent.
  • Legal Requirements: When compelled by law or valid legal request.
  • Business Transfers: As part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with prior notice to you.

4. Data Storage and Security

Busy-time blocks may be cached briefly to improve user experience, then discarded. All data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard security protocols.

5. Your Control

  • Disconnect your Google Calendar at any time.
  • Revoke access via Google’s permissions page.
  • Upon revocation, we stop access and delete any cached availability data.
